The other day I overhead Racha talking on the phone with a potential client explaining how many hours it takes for us to build a brand. They seemed surprised how long it takes to develop a brand and even just make a logo. Racha explained to them how important the research aspect is to us and how diligent we are in that process.

It’s not just about delivering a logo that looks pretty. It’s about providing you with a brand that represents who you are, what you do, and what your goals are. There’s a lot of research and strategizing that goes into it.

At Redhead, we research, brainstorm, strategize … and then we execute.

This process plays out exceptionally well when a client asks, “Why is that yellow?” I know that one of the designers will absolutely have a reason as to why it is that exact shade of saffron yellow and not canary yellow or even scuba blue.

However, as social media manager, color and design isn’t my forte. The Pantone books are gorgeous to browse through, but most of my time is spent looking at numbers, data, and words.

One of the biggest projects I have worked on thus far was Conquer with Milk for the United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM). During this project, I looked at a LOT of numbers, data, and words.

UDIM came to us with a problem: They needed to figure out a way to reach teenage girls and tell them about the importance of calcium in their diet. If you weren’t aware, teenage girls don’t get nearly as much calcium in their diets as they should.

When developing Conquer with Milk, we didn’t just think, “Oh, social media is trendy. We’ll use that.” We held focus groups and did in-depth research on what exactly was the best way to reach the teenage market. After thorough analysis, a social media campaign was born.

We developed this social campaign in order to reach teen girls multiple times per day every day of the week. Of course, when talking to someone that much you have to speak their language.

You know what happens when you do your research before you execute an idea? The final product sticks around for a long time. Conquer with Milk is in year two of being a positive social media voice, encouraging girls to consume dairy every single day.

Also, if you still haven’t poked around our newish site, I think the first sentence on the homepage is a direct reflection of us: “Creative thinking and problem solving for clients with brave hearts and big ideas.”
